Red Lips & Sweater Weather

"I got that red lip, classic thing that you like.."

There's no better time to wear the all time classic red lips than Autumn or Rainy Season, here on the Equator Line. It brightens up the moody weather like a hot coco on a chilly night!

It's the season to put away those heels,
pull out them boots,
put on cozy sweaters
and pull off red lips!
Over time, I hadn't realized that I've collected quite a few red lipsticks,
here are my favorites for the cold season!

I've reviewed most of the items,
but for this particular season,
1. YSL no. 7 - This is not my favorite, but at times, a little shine on your lips won't hurt and this is the stick to go for that extra gloss.
2. Rimmel no. 10 - Rimmel's lasting power and texture is amazing, this particular colour is the lightest red I have and is absolutely stunning. Click for details.
3. MAC Ruby Woo - This is my absolute favorite lipstick on the planet, the absolute best, God-made. The flamboyant matte red is absolutely stunning, especially for rainy season! Oh and the vanilla scent? #DEAD
4. Revlon 006 - Also a matte red, very similar to Ruby Woo in colour, but about 1/7 the price. This doesn't last as long and not as matte, but it's a great dupe for Ruby Woo.
5. Rimmel no. 107 - Favorite red/plum colour, gorgeous under the dark clouds! Click for details.
6. Revlon 307 - My go-to dark red/brown lipstick! Classic dark red lips for formal events!
7. L'oreal 602 - Slight brownish/redish gloss! This is buildable too, and very casual for uni/school! Click for details.
Surprise surprise, my favorite lips for this sweater weather isn't even a lipstick.
This is a lip liner from Yves Saint Laurent no. 1 that I got whilst I was in Amsterdam a year ago.

The reason this is my ultimate favorite is the fact that beside the absolutely stunning deep red colour,

LIP. LINERS. don't. budge.

They stay on for the longest time no matter what activities you have through out the day.

Lip liners are also very compact in size, and more precise in application because they're basically pencil (we've been prepared since we're 3 to apply it guys! just on our face and not drawing book this time.)

Hope you guys have a vanilla-scented snuggle buddy or at least fantastic brand of tea or coffee and best-selling books by your side in this romantic-melodramatic weather!
Let me know what other lip colour is your go to for this season!
OH AND AUSTRALIA, summer's not a bad time to rock them red lips too!

Jakarta Halloween Festival 2014

I'm 21! WHAT?
I know right!

I spent my entire birthday on 1 presentation and 1 test, and the remaining sleeping because I was utterly exhausted. I did get pretty rad gifts from friends and family.

but yada, yada, yada,
you know why Halloween's my favorite day of the year? because no matter how sucky my birthday ends up (and trust me, I've had one too many birthdays that ended up with me crying myself to sleep) I have like this one more fun night do-over. Which is INCREDIBLE.

This year, I stumbled across a post on Instagram that promoted the first ever Halloween festival in my hometown. I immediately leaped outta joy to see whoever wanted to come with. Since it is a day after my birthday, it's pretty easy to get my favorite people to go. The crew (Tan, Nazneen and Shahnaz) said yes and I planned my costume immediately.

I had so many ideas, including Hogwarts student, A Cat, Bellatrix Lestrange (tough choice because I had no time to prepare the costume) and Emily from Corpse Bride (difficult costume too.)

I ended up as a cat because it's the easiest. (and most overrated in the world, apparently)
I drove to Senayan for a few hours, once we got there and found Tanya waiting in the dark side (figuratively and literally), we purchased the tickets and waited to come in. As we wait in front of the gate, I heard a few people calling and chanting my name. I turned around to see that few of my friends from youtube/indovidgram there. I spotted Chandra, Devina and Aulion, first and Vendry, Bena and a few others after.

We went to check out the scare zone first, where there were "ghosts" running around acting possessed. One literally screamed in my ear with a chainsaw! IT WAS COOL.

The only thing is that, since it's dark, it was hard trying to capture photos of things!
In the Safe Zone, people sit around and enjoy food from the small vendors surrounding the place. The atmosphere is very festival-like. Which is wonderful. Everyone seemed to put effort into their costume, which is very comforting in the strangest way.

I met my friend Anna, whom I've lured into coming a few days earlier (muahahaha), with her sister Norma and a few of her lovely friends.

We visited the Japanese Maze which was very strange, with awkward Japanese ghost. It was uncomfortable, not gonna lie. Haha. Anna had to go early though, wish she had stayed longer!

(although not visible, I had on:
Tight Black Bodycon Dress with Tutu
A black skirt to make the dress longer
My mum's Net Stockings
Kitty Lace Ear from Primark
Choker from H&M

I joined Aulion, Bena, Dina and Dhino in queuing for the haunted house (where I was terrified and only held Bena's shoulders from behind and look down the entire time!) before joining everyone back in the Safe Zone.
Dina and Dhino should've really told me that it wasn't the time to smile,..
waiting for the Haunted House took like 45 minutes, damn.
The lovely Vendry from moinblog.com and the super-tall-and-pretty Caca!
Marlo is in a strange mood, I believe. (Devina, great photobomb, darle!)
Kitty nose completely gone by this point.

For more pics and details on the event, refer to: @JKTHalloweenFestival on Instagram and for more with details of the food included, go check moinblog.com out!
had a fun night, looking forward to next year's! x

How was your Halloween?
What did you choose to channel?
Hope it was awesome!

" Monday morning,
you've had tears running down your cheek,
honey don't let it destroy your entire week,
little did you know, it was gonna be sick,
so don't you ruin it for some random dick. "

greetings from me,
it's Monday morning, I'm writing this during the break of Operation Management class, it's become sort of a habit for me isn't it, writing during class break?
I had a rather interesting weekend, which others would refer to as "normal weekend", but anything other than sitting in my room is preferred.
I went to another running event, as participant and not volunteer this time, with 4 other friends (yes, Tan is one of them. of. effin'. course. like this blog hasn't had enough of her face in it. haha! kidding!)
The running part was awful, -we were basically running among vehicles- but the rave party was fun.
I woke up early on my friend's couch, Tan was in the bedroom and after an hour of stretching, half-an-hour of complaining and another hour of TV, we left the apartment in attempt to find breakfast.
We settled in one of the only few cafés that were open and although it's pretty (and photogenic) it just felt really silly when you think about how, today, we spend more time taking photos of our food than actually eating it, then we spend more time thinking which one is good enough that we forget to enjoy it.

I mean, if you actually enjoy food-photography it's awesome, and if it makes you happy, then do it!
but it's sort of sad if you go to places you can barely afford just to impress people you barely like.
just do what makes you happy,
don't be pressured to have manufactured objectives the society demands.
eat what you like, do what you like, what's good for you, whether they're instagram-worthy or not.
"with enough coffee, I could rule the world."
I just happen to like Coffee very much, this particular one was delicious too.

Being in University and Fun Things

Ola, friends!

Now, I know I haven't been around, juggling between personal life, Youtube & School is tough!
Talking about School (University to be exact but I go to business school, so I'm allowed to call it school, teehee), I feel like in Indonesia, going to University is still something people value very much, which is utterly great. In other countries with social/monetary security (like USA), people tend to think they should just work right away, because University isn't worth the money they will get afterwards. In Indonesia, to secure your place in the globalized country with tough competition, you need more than just passion for your work.
University here varies in prices too, I'm sure you, reading this, can afford one.
I fully support post-highschool study, I think it's important to enhance your skills, and ayee, University isn't so bad either! These are things that make it different than High School:
1. You have your group of friends and aren't pressured to befriend anyone you don't like because everyone is doing their own thing, you're likely to find people with the same interest.
2. Professor don't chase you around for homework like teachers do.
3. Nor do they care if you missed a class.
4. You are responsible for your own time management, whether it is about studying, being late or missing class.
5. There isn't a set schedule from 7.00 to 16.00 every single day.
6. It also means you easily lie about work schedule to your parents (oops!)
7. Hanging out on school nights are also possible! (;
8. College kids are hella stingy, you'll learn to save your money to the cents too!
9. You'll be surrounded by people with the same interest with you at ALL TIME.
10. Professors don't treat you like children at all, no matter how young you are!
11. INTERNSHIPS! (<- so nerve-wracking but very very fun!)
12. You're an adult now, concentrate on your favorite things because you don't have to care about irrelevant subjects you MUST take back in High School!

(party, volunteering for flood victims, music fesitval, dinner with CEO, beach getaway, MetroTV studio, meeting the one and only Najwa Shihab (I also met Joko Anwar that night!), trip to Singapore, Unilever Indonesia company visit, shooting advertisement, running orientation for new students, bowling!)

As you may know, I go to a Business School despite my massive interest in the entertainment and fashion industry, I figure sometimes you should highlight what you need instead of what you want, and balances the best of both world. That's sort of the basis of what made me choose my degree. Choosing a degree isn't easy, for me to finally chose mine required a lot of sleepless nights, tears and screaming (oh, trust me, I'm not exaggerating!)

Guys, trust me, I get your fear of choosing the wrong thing and being stuck with it, I recommend you to go see someone non-bias (not your parents, because they have expectations!) like online counseling or at school, join seminars and keep an open-mind.
Also, join events such as this upcoming UNSW Open Days in Indonesia & Singapore which could help you decide on one of the most exciting experiences of your life. Check out this >> VIDEO << to learn more about what it is and when the event is.

All and all, I wish you the best of luck,
share this post with anyone who needs it and encourage everyone to keep studying,
we're never too old or young to spare our time for education! Xxx

Summer Accessories Haul!

Hello lovely people!
Nessie here, overly depressed she hasn't been able to upload the video made since last saturday due to unreliable internet connection during holiday. First world problem!!
Although uploading a video just apparently isn't happening with my poor iPhone personal hotspot, I manage to still go online (just not upload any video :( )
Summer has not completely been only summer this time due to the clash of the season holiday and a religious holiday, I put aside bathing suites and shorts shopping this time and purchased some jewelries and sunnies instead.
Again, I turned to Diva for most of my cheap-no-worries accessories, and to my dad's company for a high-end gem stones and (more) expensive beads jewelries. BUT who needs expensive stuff on a vacation? I don't. I'd rather bring those I won't regret when losing.

1. Headband - Diva (US$ 15.95 | Rp 185.000,-)
whAT THE HECK IS THAT?! oh that's a hairband with spikes and roses on them. Why did I get it? I don't know, it just looks really good on my hair and I thought it makes me look extra bad-ass.
2. Hoop Earrings with Crystals - Diva (unknown)
These are also from Diva, I just lost the tag (thus the unknown price.) I just thought these would look a little fancy if there's any big celebration or party I'll be invited to. Besides, it would compliment your summer-tan-glow perfectly.
3. 'Imagine' Bangle - Diva (US$ 5.18 | Rp 60.000,-)
If you knew me personally, you'd know that I'm a big Beatles fan, and all of its members, dead or alive. I have performed this John Lennon's hit before and I love the lyrics, like..it speaks to me, if that makes sense. I just had to get it..
4. A 'Bohemian' style Ring-Bracelet (US$ 12.85 | Rp. 149.000,-)
I don't exactly know if this is bohemian-like, but it looks hippie-like to me too, I just think it's adorable!
5. Flower Sunnies (unknown)
My sister got this for me during her recent trip to Singapore. This doesn't have a brand, she said she got it at a bazaar or a festival or something. I haven't got any with this style, I'll treasure it!
These are Cheap Monday Psychometrie Sunnies! I was unable to find this particular sunnies on the Website anymore, but a store online sold it and this one just caught my attention. I always find Wayfarers complimenting to my facial shape, but I don't have one that is good quality. Most of my sunnies are from H&M, Accessorize and all those inexpensive but so-so-quality brands. This is relatively the same prize as Accessorize's but when I get ahold of the product, it is incredible! very well made, the quality is a lot similar to Rayban's, the screws are tight and it feels really good sitting on your nose, just a really nice quality sunglasses. I thought it's about time I get one good Wayfarer as I wait for my dad's old RayBan to get fixed. :)
7. Pink Wayfarer - Accesorize (14.90 | Rp. 360.000,-)
As I said, most of my sunnies that I switch around and swim with without hesitations are these kinds, I saw this and thought that I haven't gotten one in this colour though I've been adoring soft pastel colours lately. So I got these pair!
8.Simple Black Hoop Earrings - Diva (US$ 3.99 | Rp. 45.000,-)
I had a pair of these exact same style of Earrings back in High School, sadly I lost one! They suit almost every kind of clothing, events and seasons. Can't go wrong with a little black hoop earring!
9. Studs! - Diva (US$ 2.58 | Rp. 30.000,-)
The biggest, best find of the day! These were on sale and for someone with 10 piercings, this was DIVINE! Do I have the patience to change them up? probably not, but I'll give it a shot!!
I also got myself pairs of feet-companions for the holiday!
Above are colourful flats from The Little Things She Needs which were on a one-day-sale given to everyone participating in Presidential Election (Chinggg! I was more than willing to show off my blue-marked pinky!) I think they're about 20 bucks? I don't remember!
Below are a pair of hippie-like Brash Wedges which I've been eyeing for sooo long! I finally got it!
I think that these are really good finds and I'm very happy with each.. Although I don't know if I would've purchased the pink Accessorize Sunnies if I had gotten my hands on the Cheap Monday one first! I will try to make the best use of everything!

What are your most exciting recent purchase(s)?
I'd love to know!

Deutschland Weltmeister 2014

-not reviews and hauls today, let's explore my non-girly side-

I remember when I was 8, my dad would stay up late watching the World Cup. Without asking, I know if there's any kind of event where all the countries in the world are competing, his heart would be with Germany. He didn't miss any of their games, so when I curiously sit next to him, I would see strangers in white jersey running around chasing a ball.

I remember the excitement declared through his voice as he screams "Goalll!!" or "Torrr!!", the glittering passion through the eyes of the audience, the pride projected off the players' mute scream, silent, unheard through the cheering of hundreds of thousands. I remember wanting to understand why.

I asked my dad a lot of questions, and sometimes, he just loves explaining things to people without being asked. Which, although now seems like the most obnoxious thing, was very helpful when I was younger. He told me that the German loves a good concrete system, they don't like counting on luck. I fell in love with the game, and even more with the team my father highly regards.

One of the first games I remember watching during 2002 World Cup, my dad was saying something about someone with a difficult last name, being his favorite. I scanned through the players and I pointed at one young man wearing number 11, Miroslav Klose, I told my dad, "Him, number 11, that's my favorite!" I think my dad laughed at how I don't have a legitimate reason to favor this Klose person, but that's it, he's my favorite, I'll stick with my words. I parade around his name at school the next day, partly because I couldn't remember any other names of the other German players.

Until I fully understood Football/Soccer, that's the only name I'd mention if anyone ask me who my favorite footballer is. Strangely, the more I understand the game, the more I admire him. From being 8, to 12 -when I started playing football/soccer, to 16 -when I was captain for my school's girls football/soccer team-, and now 20, there are numbers of players I had come to like, admire, fangirled for and forget, but one name stays on my top 2 at all time; his.

Last night, I stayed up from 2 - 6 AM, though I have not one, but two exams today. I know I wouldn't be able to miss my favorite team finally being on the final again, after 12 years. I screeched with pride as the final whistle was blown, declaring their status as the World-champion.
There's something a little bigger than pride, to finally see those "strangers in white jersey" raised the glorious trophy above their head, passing it on from one to another, as if to assure themselves that this wasn't a dream. It's crazy, how I don't know them, nor are they representing MY country, but until my own can step up and play in World Cup, Germany will always be my team.

If it's true that last night's game is Miro's last international game defending Der Panzer, I would like to thank him. For inspiring me and unknowingly showing me more than the greatness that is this universal game, but also passion, the fact that 12 years ago, people would ask me who he was and from which team. Today, you'd have to be massively pretentious if you say you like the game but don't know who he is. From zero to hero,
the man I randomly chose now holds the world record of the most goals on world cup tournament!
You'll always be my favorite player, Danke für Alles, Miro!

Politics, Busy Week & 1K

A little hello from me,

Amidst the chaotic ignorance surfacing through the warmth of Indonesia's tropical ambiance leading to the upcoming Indonesia's Presidential Election, I for once, (almost) do not parade around my choice voluntarily (with over-exaggerated alacrity.)
Do I have a choice? You betcha.
Do I have a problem if the other wins? No, I personally don't. I would much rather have Jokowi-JK win, but I do respect Indonesia if it's chosen to think otherwise. After all, with support, prayer and love, I hope we can send positive vibes to the big men sitting in big chairs running our beloved country.
It's unhealthy to have an anathema, especially not someone who has your whole country in his hand.

So, that's quite brusque considering Indonesia's going through what feels like a political battlefield right now, with 2 VERSIONS of posters, billboards and flyers in the corner of your eyes every possible angle you can possibly roll your eyeballs to. Friends become foe, family fights, I just can't seem to fathom people who aggressively offends and defends, what's the point of the black campaign and calumny, guys, one of these guys WILL BE OUR PRESIDENT.

Okay, enough of that political shiz.

I woke up one morning around last week to this:

1,000 SUBABIES!
I haven't been able to grasp why anyone would watch any of my videos at all. I just enjoy making them and I enjoy watching people interact on the comment section. '120,000 views' means my videos have been watched 120,000 times in total. WHAT.
They are like ...real people, like..BOOM! mind blown!
Thank you, if you are one of those who have joined crossing to the dark side muahaha *evil laugh*.
I am excited to do better, fun stuff on my channel with you!

I've had a crazy week and an even more mental weekend!
(on the way to Electro Run)
I volunteered for Electro Run last weekend and still am knackered. My cupidity for a great wild free-spirited experience granted me a spot on the refreshment booth, or as I like to call it: wait-what-i-didn't-sign-up-for-the-hardest-job-here, preparing drinks for 11,000 thirsty people eager to flood their belly with drinks.

The race started at 7 pm, but myself and 19 other people started stacking drinks at 5/6, I'm not even sure. It succeeded wiping my whole make up off, leaving a little bit of eyeliner which I cherished with my whole heart.
It was such a cool event regardless, I was so glad I got to be a part of it!
I redesigned this whole blog in attempt to start writing again after a hiatus that feels like an eternity. I get bored of things so easily, I constantly need changes, I 100% need it.
So here's to a restart, and first 1k of www.youtube.com/NessieJudge !
Thank YOU!

Super Easy Aglio Olio Recipe

Hello friends!,
It's a messy hair and dark lips sort of day, I'm not complaining.
I just got off mid-terms for the five subjects I have this semester; Thought Leadership, International Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Statistics. (Yes, they are in order from the one I can (still) tolerate to the ones that make me want to jump off a bridge.)

Friends, I miss my friends. Being at University is okay, but the less school days you have = the less time you spend with your friends = the less bond you have with them. Some people are family oriented, well, I'm not. I'm one of those freaks who build tension whenever I'm around more than one family member. I'm avoiding fights because it's unhealthy, so I've been alone most of the time.

Being alone can be good though, right?
Not for me, it's not.
Thank god blood is thicker than water, my cousin, Shahnaz, comes to hang out with us every weekend and we now try to be somewhat productive and adventurous on weekends and try to do new things to make our life interesting without having to go through 4 hours of traffic to go to the city and do nothing at malls.

We tried to make Aglio Olio pasta, God knows why.
it was extremely simple to make and tasted amazing!
all you need:
+ Pasta
+ Virgin Olive Oil
+ Mushroom
+ Garlic
+ Red Pepper/Chili
+ Italian Parsley Leaves
+ Salt & friends (optional)
1. Chop all the garlic, mushroom, chili, and Italian Parsley leaves! Chop all of 'em!
2. Boil some water and cook da pasta (drop it like it's hot uyeeaahh)
3. As you age and wait for the pasta, put the debris of things you've chopped earlier on a frying-pan and fry them with the virgin oil!
4. Lastly, put the cooked pasta on the frying-pan too and cook them together, add salt and more oil according to how wet you want it to be. (that's what she said. wait. what.)

Maan, I thought I sucked at cooking, I'm even worse at writing recipes. Trust me though,
THIS WAS DELICIOUS! (and as easy as an Italian food can get.)

What's your favorite easy-peasy-recipe ?
I need to try making them too!

Talks & Cakes

It's the first day of April!
Someone please stop the time, I'm getting dizzy.
Yesterday was a national holiday and what better way to bid March our farewell than by celebrating with Cinnamon Rolls and some girls chat?
I really wanted to watch Divergent but I haven't had the time to, and the people around me just don't trust me when I say it's awesome. I read Divergent in like 2 days, I. am. basically. obsessed.
I was going to watch it today, but I just have things to do for school and my youtube channel, I think it's best if I stayed indoor today. (Though it's the last thing I'd want on such a nice day.)

My sister, cousin and I can't bare not meeting each other at least once a week to talk about stuff. We've grown up basically together, and though my cousin is 5 years younger, she's way too mature for her age and I guess we're kind of to blame.
We took to Saint Cinnamon to spend this national holiday and welcome the lovely April,
I basically had the pleasure of putting these dangerous calories-bomb onto my system, and boy does it taste like sin. (A really really tasty sin. )
I'm pregnant.
(Not that it's important or anything but like it's pretty relevant and this is why I'm welcoming april.)

april fools.

The Body Shop Makeup Event

Amidst my empty-scheduled holiday, I got an email from one of the 700 malls in Jakarta that invited me to a TBS event. I wasn't sure what this event might be, but if you've been following this blog for a long time, you probably know that I have sort of an obsession with The Body Shop.
Lately I've lost that admiration for their make up (though I religiously use their Vitamin E moisturizer.) I just am not very impressed by the range, quality and strength of TBS make up products. So I thought that I'd give this even a shot to change my mind.
I asked my lovely friend, Tanya, to accompany me, and after three hours of driving through the intense Jakarta traffic, we made it to the event an hour early.
A lot of girls ranged from fashion blogger to media partners to random strangers gathered up at 5 to wait for the tutorial to begin. There were two make up artists mentoring girls who came to the event, Imam Pulungan and Lizzie Para.
The Make Up experts on the move! :
Ooh, did I mention that we were served Cupcakes? They were absolutely incredible.
My skin is so easily pigmented, I could spend an hour at the beach and literally change completely, well, if I could say so myself, I consider myself quite tan, and make up for tan girls can be quite tricky. You don't want to ever look caked, and you don't want to look like you're putting too much make up since being sun kissed is already a pretty good look.
Thus, I've been obsessed with a natural bronzed look lately.
After the event, I came over to one of the makeup experts, Imam Pulungan and he willingly showed me how to recreate a natural sun-kissed look by shading and contouring.
He showed me how to properly contour my cheeks and tested my knowledge by asking me to do the other half of my face afterwards. He was such a lovely guy, and obviously knows what he's doing.
The product that really really captured my attention from this whole event is the Shimmer Wave that goes right in my wish list!
This product is amazing. I usually just prefer my Rimmel Natural Bronzer, but I've never imagined how a single weird-looking product can be this amazing cheeks palette. Literally, there's blush, contour, highighter in one simple palette.
I used to think that this kind of product would be dysfunctional as they're trying to push everything together.
But this is phenomenal. I loved it.
I got home 4 hours later and it still looks as good:

Anyways, that's my quick review of The Body Shop event and my favorite product from it.

What do you think of TBS Make Up?
Have you met one that keeps you on the hook?
