Bath Time for My Babies!

Supposedly, you need to clean your brushes once a week, please let me know if I'm not the only one who doesn't get excited to clean their brushes, at all! I am way too lazy and busy to do it weekly, so instead, I do them once in two weeks! If you are one of those people who has full make up on every single day, then I recommend you to do this ritual weekly, but if you're like me, who still hangs on with light coverage and basic make up, I'm pretty sure we'll get by just alright with washing our brushes once in two/three weeks!
Anyways, I'm here to give some tips on how you shall bathe your babies!
1. Get your self a small bowl filled with warm water. Make sure the water isn't too hot as it may harm your baby. I personally use my Body Shop's Shower Gel to wash my brush as it leaves them really soft and fresh afterwards. I have heard that baby shampoos and a few Dove products are also good choices to clean your brush with!
2. Pour just enough amount of gel into your water, you'll know whether it's enough or not once you stir them together in step 3.
3. Get the soap and water to mix and see whether they're slimy enough on your fingers. (You don't want the full on guey and thick potion, they should be just enough to make your fingers slimy)
4. Sway the head of your brush in circular motion but do not let the water touch the aluminum part of your brush for it's common knowledge to know what happens to wet aluminum after a while.
5. One thing that people usually do when they're done with their brushes is to let them stand and dry. This is actually very damaging, because the water that sits on the brush's head would later drip down to the roots and mess with the glue that holds everything together. You then wouldn't be able to keep your brush for a long time. So instead, get a towel and rinse all the brushes.
6. Let your babies lay naked out there until the wind dries them naturally. (;

SO, to wrap up, never let the water drip on the aluminum part of your brush and roots, rinse and let them dry naturally and do this at least once in 2-3 weeks! This is the Real Techniques - Samantha Chapman Core Collection Brush by the way. Since I'm currently traveling, I find it easy to just bring this, because almost everything is included in this collection! I love it! Better reviews on them later, maybe! For now, I hope you're happy I've shared how I clean my brushes! Let me know if there's more tips on how to do them!

Pretty City & Finnish Junk Food

A few days. ONLY four more days left here. I don't know how I feel about this at the moment. All I know is that there's only so much this small city has got to offer, and I have just so little time to try getting all of them ticked. The weather has changed somehow drastically in these past few days. The wind blows a lot harder, everything is a lot colder, the sun sets earlier and takes longer to rise. There are days that I really don't want to go out unless I have to. There's no excuses when we've got this little time though! We went out pretty late as I went to bed really really late the previous night (technically earlier morning) but we did get to go to a few places though! I tried the famous Hesburger and got chicken nuggets, which was lovely.

My adorable new bag from H&M! It's so thin that it fits everywhere, and so big that everything fits in it!
My awesome dinner, Finland's finest Hesburger's Chicken Nugget with Curry Mayonnaise Dip-Sauce!
How's your week been?
Mine's been a little heart-breaking, fully exhausting, nerve-wracking and packed.
I've been very moody for some reason, sometimes I'm all "YES! Living life at the moment! I'm so excited! Yes!" but then again there are a lot of moments this week that made me just want to bawl my eyes out. I guess it's because I've always been that girl who stays inside her comfort zone in terms of traveling and all that, once I'm settled, it's really hard for me to leave it. BUT I NEED TO. So I'll try as hard as I can to be positive. That's be my resolution for the upcoming month. (:

How's your week been?

More Nail Polish! (Rimmel's I ♥ Lasting Finish)

So, I've been very disrespectful to my wallet and accidentally got a few more things that I probably don't need. I actually need to consider going to those shoppaholic meetings. Huff.
Anyways, RIMMEL'S I LOVE LASTING FINISH was on sale 2 for 3, so I got these pretty colors. In terms of colours, I actually thought that the two colours seemed similar at first, but they only had these three colours so I just took em all. They are actually quite different when you put them on, no. 026-Hot Chick is a lot pinker and darker, while no. 271-High Energy is more like orangey-pinkish color, very fresh. No. 046-Shout Out Loud is a dark green polish that I've never had before. I actually had this green one on for a week and it matches my boring everyday autumn clothes.I personally wouldn't call this "Lasting Finish" if I were Rimmel. The green one that I had on chipped after only a few good days. Its lasting power is nothing close to the previous Rimmel Polish that I had purchased. I guess that's kinda why they're a lot cheaper. If you put base coat and topcoat maybe they would last a bit longer though!
I had on the High Energy one today and I couldn't bare erasing it, so I asked my friend, (the lovely) Tanya to model them for the swatch below. (Thanks Tanya!)
If you ever tried Rimmel's nail polish, do let me know which one you think is best out of all their nail products!

Rainy Day Pancakes

I have exactly a week left in this gorgeous city.
A week left to freeze waiting for bus,
A week left saying there's nothing much to do here,
A week left to run down to grocery store when I run out of milk,
A week left staying up until three hoping there's northern lights,
A week left to walk down the street smiling to myself, grateful for this insane opportunity that I might not get if I had chosen that I won't go to this one old university I've never heard of. It's crazy how much things change in a year, I'm not one of those people who brags about their school, but I can see good future for IPMI IBS.

Meanwhile here,
I got stung by a bee (left hand, index finger, right onto my bone! haha) but I wasn't going to waste my time inside the apartment 24/7, no matter how cold and rainy it was outside and how hilariously massive my index finger has became.
We took a few people's recommendation and went to get the famous pancakes everyone's been raving about!
I heart LA shirt from JunkFood
Leather Jacket from RoseBullet
Dark Blue Jeggings from CoolJeans
Boots from Caprice
Bag from Proenza Schouler

I'm going to seize the moment.
I am not the happiest, content person I know, but I will try, not for anyone but myself. I've always been a curious person, but often my fears force me to neglect great chances coming my way.
I will try to let it know that it's not in control of me.

I might have picked up more things for my lips earlier this week than I should. Eep. I just can't help it okay, these products are my lips' bestfriend at the moment!
1. Maybelline ColorSensational
    No. 475, Coral Diamonds
Look at how the packaging dazzles like a pink disco ball! So pretty! This product contains sort of the fresh orange-red color that's shockingly pretty moist on the lips. I really like how the color shows up, they make lips look fresh and moisturized.
2. MaxFactor Colour Elixir
    No. 740, Pashmina
I really really like the packaging of this product, it's gold and it looks really sophisticated and pricey (look it up, I haven't got any clear pic of it.) The color I've chosen is quite neutral, like nude with a little bit of shimmer. I find this really handy to put on in the morning before going to class, it's just one of those color that looks easy and effortlessly gorgeous.
3. H&M Mini Lipstick (+ Chain?)
I didn't take this product seriously when I got it, I just thought that it's quite hilarious to have an actual lipstick as a chain (it was only 2 Euros or so.) I then tried it after buying it and found it extremely shocking. The pigmentation is strong and subtle, it doesn't dry your lips and it's such a gorgeous color. The magenta color is quite matte and long-lasting, it's just really pretty, nothing I had expected.

BUT, my lips' ultimate favorite for this set of purchase has got to be the Limited Edition Vaseline; Pink Bubbly Lip Therapy! Whoa, mouth full! Honestly, I haven't been able to stop buttering my lips with it since I got it. The Champagne smell is such a delight, it's soft and it moisturizes really really well, I'd say slightly better than Body Shop Lip Butter. I can't even tell you how adorable the packaging looks, the moment I spot it, I'm sold.
Unfortunately this product is yet to be available for my fellow Indonesian.
These are what I've been loving so far in September!

What's your lips' bestie at the moment? (:

Autumn is Here

I love this blurry photo Tanya took of me.
And just like that, a month passed by.
I've grown to love this city more than I should or thought I would. I've never experienced the beauty of Autumn before, I can now legitimately say that it is beautiful. I'm not even going to pretend like I'm not gasconading my experience, leaving people with the feeling of wanting and jealousy only help them to go after something and that's always good.
I fell in love with the season the day I refuse to be saxicolous, the moment I stepped outside for fresh air and found that as the wind blows my hair softly in the middle of the woods, the sound was more than a feeble whistle, I looked up and there were leaves, flying around like thousands of orange and pink butterflies. The branches waved gently, reminded me of a mother saying goodbye to her kids as they leave to find their own adventures. It was intimate, it was like the whole ecosystem surrounding me just paused and enjoyed that one small beautiful moment.
Neen, Tan & I found ourselves in a beautiful park today and took a few photos, it was such a wonderful park, I had to share some of the shots I took and Tan took of me.

Live Your Life

Hello dear readers,
I (literally) jumped out of bed early this morning reading a message from my dad about my cousin's son who has passed away earlier today. I'm in shock, though I don't really know him, I just couldn't bare the thought of a 9 year-old having to leave this world that early. The thought bothered me all day, but I managed to distract myself and went around the city with my friends for a good few hours after work.
I've realized that you just don't really know what you've got until it's truly gone. I don't know anything about the afterlife, nobody does (I know it's written in holy book(s), but nobody knows for sure what it's like), but life is one of the most precious thing that we often waste carelessly. Time is endless, and the next thing we know, we're just a dust amongst billions, passing by this earth before we turned back into soulless peaces lying to disappear.
I passed by a store called Miracle Sounds, it has olden days instruments, records & radios on display. I studied the faces that used to be famous, the instruments and radios that was once alive and working, getting people on their feet and dance, calling people to sing along, but now they're dead, all of it, just pieces of decoration, attracting people who has no interest in knowing how much of an impact they all had affected the world once upon a time.
I guess what I want to say is, live your life to the fullest. We're in no wish-granting-factory but there isn't anyone else who can give your wish a chance other than yourself. I will try to do what I preach, I often got too scared to do certain things in the scare of that uneasy panic feeling that I get all the time, but I won't give them a chance to let me lie on my death bed with regrets, you shouldn't either.
Whoever you are reading this, I love you!
Sweater from H&M
(it makes me look slightly bigger but it's so comfortable, I love it)
Jeggings from CoolJeans
Boots from Caprice
Bags from TopShop
Nail Polish from Rimmel

I hope I didn't scare you away with this serious post. There's only too few chances to say what you need to say, so say everything on your mind as if you only get to live until tomorrow, but never blame yourself when you make mistakes as if you were to live a thousand more years to redo and fix them.

10 'The Body Shop' Products

Yes, I have been overly consumed by my love for TBS, I honestly didn't think I brought this much products, just got a little shiver, yes, I have more back home. I have liked TBS since forever though, I remember being 13 and all I wanted was the Vanilla scented Body Mist (which disappeared for ages and came back recently, I instantly got two incase they decided to discontinue it again..haha.) I feel very comfortable knowing, when I use these products, that no animals were harmed in the making of them.
These are the products I just need to have by my side while traveling and adjusting to new surrounding(s).
I absolutely adore this product, but I can safely say I have never tried brushing any other parts of my body other than my face with this. I won't be surprised if people actually do though, it is so soft and I have never seen any hair come off, it's very strong, I've had it for more than a year and it still looks like the first time I got it. I love it.
I have recently included this product on My Everyday Makeup post, oh oh, I just went to the web and this is apparently a best seller. I don't normally like TBS' make up that much, but I can say that this product is really good to cover blemishes. I don't use it everyday just when I feel like I need extra coverage. It is foundation + powder, so if you don't have much time to apply the two products separately, this is a good way to have a firm base before your other glitters. (:
This unlimited edition palette comes in two version, for darker smoky eyes and lighter one for those who would like to try experiencing with smoky eyes but not so confident with thick bold black eyes. I got the darker because I've been using black eyeliner & shadow since I was 12 (don't copy, my emo days were very....confusing :P ), I feel quite comfortable having bold eyes. I like this palette because they're very firm and long-lasting, it also comes with two brushes that helps a lot when you're doing a proper smoky eye look.
I honestly am having a little seizure as I can't find this product on the website. NOOOO! This is my ultimate favorite scent from The Body Shop. I have about two more stocked up in my bathroom and I have the body butter swell (which I didn't bring along because it's not as flexible as the Vanilla Duo.) But seriously though, this scent is amazing, it's really fruity and fresh, I often shower before bed and nothing's better than the mixture of this and hot shower before bed!
Yes, I brought two of these, it's very dehydrating, especially if your skin, like mine, gets really dry when you don't moisturize. It's also really easy to get absorbed. Get that this product will show its magical power not instantly, keep using it and you'll get addicted like me. Haha. Oh and it smells like babies! I love it!
This is the one thing I regret buying. I just can't work with this, I did bring it along by accident, it was just sitting in my makeup bag untouched all the time. It easily broke (if you can see it, the tip of it is broken on the photo above) and it has no lasting power at all. I got the silvery-gold color too which is just as weak, but that one is better as I could use it as a base or just added shimmer. Overall, I just really don't like it. Maybe it works for some people though, just not me.
This my tiny little magical hair-brush! it's now on sale for $3.75!! It's very compact, small and flexible, easy to clean and looks really expensive. I've had it for years and I really really like it.
I just got this bath puff while buying my shower gel, just thought they're all the same, but my friend pointed out that they're not? She claims that TBS bath puff is the best because they're softer and stronger than others. I trust you, Tanya.
My second favorite scent from TBS is Vanilla. I like how this body butter moisturizes, and it's very flexible, as our different body parts may not be evenly dried or moist, sometimes you need different creams for different parts. I find it easier to just bring this instead.
Last but never will be least! This is a must for me to carry around. See, I very rarely get any zit or pimples but I sometimes get them if I ate anything hormonal or if I spend a long time in the city, by all the pollution. Then, this is my ultimate best friend, it hurts a little, but you'll go to bed and see your zit has disappeared the next day! I FULLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT! especially if you easily get zit or pimples. (:
Favorite Products! Tea-tree oil & Passion Fruit Shower Gel
I didn't bring any body mist from TBS because of their glass container that's heavy and fragile. :(
I have two though, vanilla & strawberry, both very fresh though doesn't last very long.
That's all I've got to share today, hope you like it, please do tell what's your favorite Body Shop product! I'd love to know!

till later,

You're Gonna Hear Me Roar!

I'm sure by now you've all known the melody to that particular song.
Sitting at around midnight alone in the kitchen, I found myself humming to Katy Perry's Roar. See, I've always liked Ms. Perry, since I first heard "U R Gay" a few years ago in the middle of music class in high school, through the times my dad scolded me for singing "I wanna see your peacock" all day, and had my eyes bawled in front of my laptop when "Thinking of You"'s video came out.
I personally like her personality (though I don't even know her) and who can deny her talent?
Anyways, I decided to cover another amazing hit by Katy Perry and then as I went for a run with my sister and Tanya, I thought I'd make a little video for the cover I had done a few hours earlier.
I shivered as I exported this, I'm not sure I was ready to upload a video of me singing again. I've always loved singing, I've done countless performances throughout my school years, but I haven't done one in so long that it made me really really nervous. I've taken the time to edit, and my friend's time to film, so it's only fair to just put it out there already. As if my nervousness wasn't enough, I tried uploading this 15 times but still, the video, that looks absolutely HD and clear on my screen, decided to turn to crap on youtube's 360p resolution. If you ever decided to see it, please move it up to 720p, it looks slightly better.
Tiger Ear Band from Unknown
Bring Me Luck Tank from H&M
Track Suit from Surfer Girl
Dark Blue Jeggings from CoolJeans
It was nonetheless a beautiful, beautiful day and Oulu has once again gave me a wonderful space to drop my jaw in amazement. It was almost like a dream; the lake, the falling orange and pink leaves, the sun, everything was perfect. I hope you, too, are having a perfect day!

Rimmel & Sally Hansen Nail Polishes Review

See, they don't have Rimmel in Indonesia (at least I think they don't..whoops) and I've seen some great reviews of their Professional Finish nail polish that claims to be able to hold their shit together for up to 10 days. I felt somewhat challenged hearing so, I have honestly ruined every nail polish I ever put on my nails during at least the first 4 hours.
So I picked up two of these adorable candy colors, the greenish blue is called "500 Peppermint" and the adorable pink is called "297 Show Off." They were about 6 Euros each.
A few months ago (or more) I remember this one phase when everybody was so much into nail art and some other magical nail tricks like cracks and magnet. I've always wanted to try to feel the magnetic force upon my nails, so I also took this Sally Hansen magnetic polish "907 Electric Emerald" to the cashier and paid for it (duh.) Oh, I believe you can get this in Indonesia (:
I absolutely love the color of the Sally Hansen polish, though, I'm not sure that I like it as much after I magnetized it. It makes me a little dizzy just looking at it, the patterns and visual reminds me of a 3D Snake, is that weird?. One thing about Sally Hansen that I've always liked is the quality of their nail polishes. I find them to be very firm and easy to put on and to dry. The finished texture is always very smooth compared to cheaper nail polishes like The Face Shop's, which I have LOTS of, but was never satisfied by.
As you can see, my hands are very tan, perhaps it's because they're the one part of my body that I never cover no matter how cold Oulu has gotten. Bright colors can be a big "No-NO!" to some of you with darker skin tone like mine, but really, I feel like sometimes you just have to be bold and choose the colors that not only look good on you, but also ones that make you happy. I really like these Rimmel colors. Although they don't appear to be as strong as the Sally Hansen one, I will still see how long it takes till it's ruined and whether or not they live up to their promises, and whether or not any of these will be in my "Best Purchase of the Month!" (:

Biggest Kebab Ever!

A few of my friends have commented on all the foodgasm photos I've posted on several social medias that everything in Finland seems bigger than the rest of the planet. Haha, they have not seen how small Oulu is. But the food here are indeed massive in size but most are so worth it. Take this amazing amazing kebab for an example, I could've sworn I've never had any better Kebab in my life. My friends and I have gone here twice now, and we saved up to come again since a week ago. Although the guy who owns the restaurant is Turkish, this still makes me really want to go to Turkey and try like an authentic Turkish Kebab. Yum.
I also went to H&M and got a really nice blue knitted top and a few other things!
I had on my usual CoolJeans Jeggings with my Caprice Boots, Sparkle & Fade Top and a long H&M Cardigan that I really like because it gives your curvy body shape and that longer look.
I had a terrible headache that I skipped make up, any hair enhancements and just grabbed my Gold Watch from Guess to accessorize my appearance a little bit.
Tyo is always always always on his phone 24/7 *judging look*
